Where do investments in U.S. solar power stand?

According to Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BNEF), as the solar energy market matures, more project financing and public market investments are becoming commonplace. Compared with other clean technology categories such as wind and biofuel, solar technology received the most public and private investments worldwide in 2014.
At $41.9 billion, solar investments, have increased by 23 percent within the same quarter in 2014 as well.
One of the most popular investments pertains to smaller solar energy projects, under 1 megawatt of energy in total. More than $20 billion worth of investments during the second quarter of 2015 were made into these smaller-scale projects, an increase of almost 30 percent from 2014.
Overall U.S. solar investments totaled $9.4 billion for the second quarter of 2015.
